WHAT IS INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN?
- Online course
- Instructional manual
- Video tutorial
- Learning simulation
Instructional Design Model is used to define the activities that will guide the development of E-learning projects. So today, I would like to share with you the comparison between ADDIE and ID4T instructional design.
ADDIE
- Analyze - what you need is the instructional goals which respond to competency gaps caused by lack of knowledge and skills, the target audience characteristics which is knowledge, skill, experience level, language proficiency, and motivation, and lastly the required resources which are technology, facilities, and potential to delivery method.
- Design - from here we need to have learning objectives to define specific and measurable actions to fulfill instructional goals, instructional strategies to establish clear links between course content and learning objective, lastly the testing strategies that provide feedback on the learner's progress in the meeting.
- Develop - aside from that, we also need learning resources that are generated by integrating content and strategies with supporting media, the validation of resources in development is performed through stakeholder review, and lastly a pilot test to see the final adjustment that should be made before implementing learning solution.
- Implement - then we need to participant engagement that begins with notification and enrollment, and preparation for an instructor that led course identifies.
- Evaluate - finally we need to formative evaluation which is conducted before implementation to determine the quality of learning resources, also the summative evaluation that conduct after implementation which is generally have 3 level that is perception, learning, and performance.
ID4T (Instructional design for teacher)
After all the points are given, we know both types of models. Now, what do you think will be a more effective way to design the learning process? Let's check it up!
Overall, we had known about the ADDIE model and the ID4T model. As a designer, you know what the best for you and what you can do for your specialty, so you can try to use both of them in your process on improving your outcome.
The conclusion, as for me, I think ID4T is quite the same as ADDIE because ADDIE is developing under ID. ADDIE shows more effective and well
designed by only using 5 steps to achieve one's goal. So, organize your future
well. Have a good day everyone.
