What is Canva? 

    Canva is a graphic design platform. It is used to create social media graphics, presentations, posters, documents, and other visual content. The app includes templates for users to use. The platform is free to use and offers paid subscriptions such as Canva Pro and Canva Premium. In 2021, Canva launched a video editing tool.

What can I do in Canva?

    You can use Canva for designing anything you need. You can create a custom design from scratch or choose from the different content types it offers. Here are a few things that you can make using Canva within a few minutes : 
  • Presentations

  • Social media posts
  • Logo
  • Posters
  • Thumbnails
  • Wallpapers
  • Infographics
  • Brochures
  • Certificates
  • Labels and Invoices
  • Planners and Banners

    So here are some of the features from canvas for you to use easily
  • Create several types of content − From compelling social media posts to infographics and resumes, Canva can help you design anything you need. You can also create your designs from scratch.
  • Drag and drop feature − The drag and drop feature of Canva makes it user−friendly. You can use templates and photos in your design in just a few clicks.
  • Templates − Canva has a library of over 50,000 templates that you can choose, edit, and customize as per your needs. Also, new templates are regularly added to the existing library.
  • Photo editing − You can do more than basic cropping and texturing photos in Canva. With its beginner-friendly features, you can blur your photos, add texts, create collages and photo grids that will produce an engrossing impression.
  • Stocks images, icons, and fonts − Canva has a library of free stock photos, icons, and fonts that you can use to create engaging graphic designs. You can also upload your photos and use them in your design.

Step by step guidelines

    1. Choose the right dimensions for your design
                To begin, choose your design type from the Canva homepage. These are set to the optimal dimensions for each graphic.
    2. Choose a background
                To choose a color, use the Color Picker tool in the toolbar at the top of the editor. To use a photo as a background, first, add a grid. Once placed on a grid, photos can be resized,                  cropped, flipped, and layered to create a variety of visual effects.
    3. Add your elements
               Your design might include text, icons, photos, or illustrations. These need to be combined in a visually appealing way.
    4. Choose the right fonts
                Choosing one font is hard enough. But your design may need more than one typeface.                    Canva suggests never using more than two fonts in a design, as too many fonts tend to make a design look “messy”.

Students benefits?

    Yes of course we have some special benefits for the students. For your information, Canva has Educations Plans for students also for the lecturers. You the Educations Plans are really beneficial because we can use the Canva Pro. So all the premium pro one, all the students and lecturers can use it without pay anything. But with the condition that you need to Login Canva with your student email or staff email especially for the UiTM students. You need to grab this otherwise you will regret will all the features that have in the Canva which is very beautiful. 

     Besides, Canva has much equipments with features that can make collaboration or you can share your works with your friends by adding their email as well. These Canva tools are really friendly to users because all the template is on the home page where you log in, so it will make your work finish earlier than other tools. 

    Also the features for students, you can go through to the presentations with your work just by finding below :


by doing that, you can present your works after you finish the editing and can record them without any editing in other apps. You can also download your presentation to PowerPoint and edit it there for more fun.

Lecturers benefit?

    As you know that the students get their free Canva to edit the pro one, but don't worry that we also have for the teachers also. The teachers can set their classroom in the canva such as they can make a room for their students to edit or send their work there. They also can add their students, manage the subjects, do the activities there and so on. At first, I didn't know too but after exploring it many times to understand, then I just saw the thing that could make it simpler for the teachers. 
    Somehow, you also can use the ready-to-use templates in the Canva for your teaching in the class. It could make your time reduce from time to time. Their template in Canva has various types of it such as education, presentation, poster, and so on. However, it is really beneficial for teachers also for the students and I hope that you all can have fun with these apps. 

My opinion

    Canva is an amazing online graphic design tool because it has as much as many other tools but with thousands of templates that can be used either for normal use or Pro use. Yeah as you know Canva is one of the complete tools that have anything in there such as business, social media, and anyone also anything you want to do. Last but not least, I really recommend you to use these Canva tools as your apps editing or presentation tools from what you had done used before such as PowerPoint, Capcut, or others.
